UPDATE: Less than 40 pageviews away from 50k! If you're looking to win, now's the time to go to my main page! And if you wind up with a page view number above 50k exactly, cap it and send it anyway; just in case the 50,000th viewer doesn't play along, I want to have a winner, and it'll be the person with the lowest number that's above 50,000.
So I recently had two revelations
1. I have about a dozen projects that I have ideas for and I'm being pulled in a bunch of different creative directions, and
2. I'm almost at 50,000 pageviews!
So I decided: Why not have a Kiriban to determine what I do next? Here are the rules: The 50,000th viewer gets to pick from a list of projects I will present to them what my next project will be. How do you prove you're the 50,000th viewer? Easy!
Just click on the Statistics tab at the top of my page and see what the pageviews total is. If it's exactly 50,000, you've won! Take a screenshot and send it to me in a note and we'll figure out what you want my next project to be.
But here's the thing; just my announcing that there's a kiriban might attract the kind of random assholes who search for "kiriban" in order to win free commissions. Nuts to those guys! So in order to qualify to win the kiriban, you must have made a SUBSTANTIVE comment on one of my pieces before taking the screenshot.
What does substantive mean? Pertaining to the actual elements or aesthetic qualities of the work. Doesn't have to be positive, but does have to engage.
Substantive: "I liked this! I especially liked..."
Substantive: "I didn't care for this. I didn't like that..."
Not substantive: "I'm commenting to qualify for the kiriban."
What do I do if some random asshole is the 50,000th pageview? I select the winner from eligible entrants based on reverse price is right rules. So if you qualify and you get on the page and the pageview number is over 50,000, but not THAT far over 50,000, take a screenshot and let me know! The winner will be the closest person to 50,000 without going under!
Thanks and good luck!

The new DA is better
The new DA interface is better than the old DA interface, don't @ me. I'm actually serious. I was worried about the transition, and Eclipse absolutely sucked and lacked features, but the new interface is like a hybrid of Old DA and Eclipse and actually improves, somewhat, on Old DA. It adds some handy management and customization features while retaining features Eclipse was missing. Also... Not for nothing, but the Old DA was getting pretty long in the tooth. It absolutely functioned well with the features it had, and that's super important. But I think a lot of us got used to the Old Way and grew accustomed to overlooking a significant amount of jank. And I mean... It looked and felt like a website from ten or fifteen years ago. New DA looks and feels modern, while retaining important features of Old DA and jettisoning aspects of the Eclipse design that sucked. I do wish it were a bit more data-efficient; old DA was quick and snappy about loading (when it didn't crash... Which
Aria Remastered
Hi!
Just a quick journal to recommend you check out jontoon (https://www.deviantart.com/jontoon)'s Aria CYOA game. If you enjoy my more comedic, pratfally stuff, or my CYOAs (or, indeed, both), you'll love Aria. Jontoon's been a huge help and inspiration in my writing, and Aria is his true gesamtkunstwerk, a monumental achievement from start to finish.
And now it has illustrations! Provided by the wonderful and talented Vesper2D (https://www.deviantart.com/vesper2d)!
Go check it out here!
Away From Keyboard
Hello all,
Just a quick note to say it's my birthday and to thank you for all your birthday wishes. It's ALSO to say that, in addition to my birthday, I also got married three days ago! We are leaving on our honeymoon TODAY (and my lovely wife will be treating me to a steak dinner once we arrive this evening, to celebrate both my birthday and the start of our honeymoon), but before we left I was taking care of things online and realized I would be without Internet for about two weeks and unable to return Birthday wishes, so I felt I should do a post explaining the situation.
So, thank you for your well wishes, and I'll see you in November!
Thank You For Your Patience
Hi!
Just wanted to thank everyone for their patience with the story I just posted, Green Around the Gills. It's built around an incredibly idiosyncratic kink of mine. In fact, I THINK, after years of searching, I may be the only person with this (highly specific) particular variety of TF interest. I think people with other TF interests may be able to get on-board, and hopefully even if you don't share the kink you'll at least find something to appreciate in the writing and humor, but this is probably the most for-me-and-only-me, pure self-indulgence story I've ever posted, and for that, I feel I should offer some sort of public apology and e

Congrats on reaching 50,000 views! I'm not too far from that myself and have really been racking my brain on how to thank people. Great idea!
